Workshops

We host workshops in front of the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) on Fridays from 3-5 p.m. Workshop songs will be announced on Monday nights on our Instagram.

You don’t have to be a De Anza student to participate, so anyone is free to join! It’s a great opportunity to meet KDC officers and current members if you're looking into joining KDC.

How to join

If you want to perform with KDC, we prepare “sets” each academic quarter. KDC mainly focuses on performing a set of K-pop songs.Preparation for each set will approximately be 8-12 weeks prior to the actual quarter. Here's a couple of things to keep in mind!

1. Stay up to date with our Facebook Page and attend the Set WorkshopsWe will release the set songs ONLY on our Facebook Page. Set songs will consist of 2 Girl Group songs + 2 Boy Group songs. Each song will have its own workshop. You are not required to go to all workshops, so attend the ones you’re interested in participating in!We’ll be teaching choreography and cast people into the song at the end of the workshop.

2. Attend the Casting WorkshopsHow does casting work?
The casting process will consist of people dancing in groups.
Videos are used to assess your overall dance style, vibe, and potential member for the dance(s) you're interested in.
It’s highly recommended that you attend these workshops in person so we can meet you face-to-face! If you are unable to attend, you may send in casting videos via email.
More info about casting will be on our Facebook page.
Do not miss the casting deadline! Unfortunately, we won’t be accepting new members after the deadline. You’ll have to wait for the next quarter to join our set!

3. Start Practices
We will start practices the week after Casting! We have practices every week until Club Day (3rd Thursday of the quarter) and for any upcoming performances.
Practice times will be discussed on the participating member’s availability and will range from 2-3 hours PER song once a week. Practices take place depending on participating members' schedules so please keep in mind your time commitment to each piece you plan on casting. If you’re in multiple songs, we ask if you can free up your schedule as much as possible.
